If You See Her, Please Lie
By Dan Miraldi

If you see her, please tell her I am fine
If you see her, say I’m having a great time
If you hold her, hold her close for me
And know you’re standing where I long to be

Don’t let on that I miss her and I’m barely holding on
I can’t stand it.  I know that she is gone.
And I know in every second, I am clinging to the past.
I’m just trying to make the memories last.

If you see her, please tell her I am fine
If you see her, say I’ve really hit my stride

There are millions of words that keep buzzing ‘round my head
Misfit phrases of things I might have said
So tell me was I wrong or was I misled
Is there something that I just don’t comprehend?

If you see her, please tell her I am fine
If you see her, say I’m really in my prime

And I’m trying just to live my life
But it’s just not right
I just can’t sleep night
So I searched the world for someone new
But they never do
I’m just trying to make it through

If you see her, please tell her I am fine.
If you see her, say I’m having a great time.

And I know that your interest has slowly gotten dim
My perspectives are certainly grim
And each note that I’m singing leads to a tired refrain of
Please don’t tell her please don’t tell her of my pain

If you see her, please tell her I am fine.
If you see her – if you see her, please lie.
