Steal Your Shine

A mother told her son, “Dry your eyes.

You’re worth far more than you realize

Running yourself thin through endless night

Don’t give into them. Don’t lose your light.

I see myself inside of you

Remember this is temporary too

Many times I have been confused

But my child, do not suffer fools

Don’t let ’em steal your shine

Be mindful of those who just waste your time

They tear at your heart

And they wear on your mind

I hope that you know when to let them all go

Behind your mask, I know your eyes

Not every question must you to dignify

It’s time to do some things for you

To save your heart is a good excuse

Don’t let ’em steal your shine

Be mindful of those who just waste your time

They tear at your heart

And they wear on your mind

I hope that you know when to let them all go

May you always know what you are worth

May you learn to take what you deserve

And when you wake, may you discern

That you’re lovely

Don’t let ’em steal your shine

Be mindful of those who just waste your time

They tear at your heart

And they wear on your mind

I hope that you know you can let them all

Don’t let ’em steal your shine

Be mindful of those who just waste your time

They tear at your heart

And they weigh on your mind

I want you know you can let them all go

Don’t let ’em steal your shine

Don’t let ’em steal your shine

Don’t let ’em steal your shine”
